Located two miles south of Duncannon, Pa. just off Rt. 11/15 is Cove Mountain Animal Hospital, C.M.A.H.   Established as a premier care, full-service veterinary medical facility, we provide the highest quality medical, surgical, and dental care for our patients.  As such, our clients come from many communities in Dauphin, York, Cumberland and Perry counties.

    Alan M. Schwartz, DVM

    Owner / Veterinarian
    Dr. Schwartz is a 1979 graduate of the University of Veracruz, Mexico.  After graduation he gained valuable experience by completing a one year internship in New Jersey.  Dr. Schwartz continued working in New Jersey for 5 additional years until he decided to move to Pennsylvania where he founded Clarks Ferry Veterinary Hospital (CFVH).  During the 20 years at CFVH, the practice steadily grew until it became obvious that a larger facility was necessary in order to maintain his established superior standard of service.  In the fall of 2007 he relocated the practice and built Cove Mountain Animal Hospital.

    Dr. Schwartz is an active member of the Pennsylvania Veterinary Medical Association. His professional interests include preventative medicine, internal medicine, soft tissue and orthopedic surgery and dentistry.

    In his free time, Dr. Schwartz enjoys fishing, hunting, boating, weekends by the fire pit with good friends, listening to 50's and 60's music and simply being outside.

    Aside from his wife ,Nora, and two daughters, Jennifer & Jessica, Dr. Schwartz' family includes 2 dogs, 2 cats,  1 cockatiel, 1 Parrot and 1 Macaw.

    Nora Schwartz

    Owner / Practice Manager
    Born and raised in Veracruz, Mexico, Nora was in her 4th year of law school at the Universidad Villa Rica when she met and married Dr. Schwartz.  Although she does miss home, Nora is extremely proud of the success and reputation that she and Dr. Schwartz have built for their practice.

    Utilizing her legal background Nora has played an integral role in the development of Cove Mountain Animal Hospital where she has taken
    on the role of practice manager.  In addition, Nora has also developed a successful grooming business within the practice.

    Nora takes immense pride in her two daughters Jennifer, D.V.M.  practicing in Salem, Ma. and Jessica, who is studying to earn her doctorate in alternative medicine and acupuncture. While her passion may be operating a successful animal hospital Nora loves to spend time at home with her family and pets (especially Suki).  In her leisure time Nora enjoys camping, chatting with her mother (Ines), traveling, live music, entertaining friends, cooking and good food.

    Kristen Wetzler

    Technician
    Kristen has worked at Cove Mountain Animal Hospital for 6 years. She manages the kennel area and also assists with surgery, exams, laboratories, and groomings.

    Kristen has been an animal lover her entire life and currently owns two Pomeranians ("Tucker" and "Buddy"), a Great Dane ("Baloo"), a cat ("Kokanita"), and two guinea pigs ("Daffney" and "Patunia").
    She was recently married in September of 2010 and enjoys fishing, hunting, and the great outdoors with her husband.

    Receptionist
    Tina has worked for CMAH since July 2000. Her jobs at the hospital include working the reception, kennels, laboratory and as a veterinary technician. Tina has a cat ("Lefty") and Siberian Husky ("Chase") at home. She loves working with animals almost as much as she loves spending time with her husband and two children (Mandi, age 8 and Cole, age 3).
